Stellar Blade delivered everything it promised by providing an adrenaline filled action RPG gameplay and incredible soundtrack, making one special package that indicates a strong competitor's debut
A lot of content and a beautiful new area to explore, in addition to a plethora of new powers. It doesn't stray too far from the base game or add much to its lore, though.
SAND LAND has one of the best visuals that did the late legendary mangaka justice, controlling the vehicles is a treat to experience but sadly the weak storytelling and vehicles crafting system overstayed it's welcome, making some parts of this game boring, but beautiful to look at
A promising game that feels undercooked. Enjoyable, unique and intriguing at times but for every great aspect there are one or two that feel unfinished or tacked on.
A real sense of wonder and adventure, where you have to figure things out for yourself rather than being spoon-fed. It lacks polish in many of its aspects but makes up for it in spirit and confidence.
Unicorn Overlord is a masterclass strategy game with a superb artstyle like I expected from Vanillaware and an in-depth gameplay that offer almost an infinite amount of possibilities, complemented by the lovable big cast of characters
Rise of the Ronin provided the best encounters and combat system Team Ninja ever provided in a recent memory, but it's open world is devoid of life or points of interest
"I actually enjoyed playing it, despite its ease, and I don't see the point in limiting it to a younger audience. It suits everyone who wants an easy platform game after a hard day's work or who is looking to try a Nintendo product at various levels.
Contra Operation Gulag is a good attempt to bring the first Contra game to the modern market, it offer a solid run and gun action that will please the hardcore fans, but it definitely lacks the polish or artstyle to bring in new ones and the price it ask for is more than what the game has to offer
An inoffensive and at times charming puzzler that won’t take over your life. Bundling it with part 2 might’ve been a good idea.
A masterclass in storytelling and environmental puzzles in a petite experience that is both funny and touching. This remake might not add much but it's a classic regardless of version
This installment builds on and improves upon what made REMAKE so great, namely beautiful scenery and epic music in addition to the best in class battle system, while one of that game's flaws, namely the dearth of side content, although the story segments can still suffer from filler content at times. It expands, improves Nd subverts enough to create a thrilling experience for veterans and newcomers alike.
Persona 3 is the best way to experience Persona 3's world and masterpiece of a story for the modern consoles, but it is not the package we anticipated due to the lack of FES content and toned down difficulty
Granblue Relink is a fantastic action RPG game that offered so much for multiplayer, but left too little for the story and single player experience
An amazing game and two good to passable games, that nevertheless retain the series’ signature zany characters, amazing music and unpredictable plots, with enough quality-of-life improvements and bonus content to make this the best way to experience this part of the saga.
The game builds on what Yakuza: Like a Dragon laid the foundation for, with a host of improvements and a much larger game. A proper send off for Kiryu and a new beginning for Kasuga.
Tekken 8 is the ultimate form of the veteran franchise that will make every Tekken player and fan proud of how much Bandai Namco have achieved with this masterpiece
Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising is stunning and rich in content for those who are looking for a fun and accessible game with no high skill ceiling that will reward you on any level of gameplay
ِAside from an epic final boss fight this DLC adds little in terms of story or gameplay. It’s competent and an excuse to return to the game’s frenetic battle system, but little else.
The year’s most confident and quirky game. Enchanting in its style and unique in its presentation, it also is the most Remedy game ever.
An accomplished remake that while it doesn’t change much, except adding quality of life elements, it succeeds in bringing a quirky old gem to a new audience of Mario and Square fans alike.
Little Goody Two Shoes is unlike any other game I have played, it mixed all of the genres neatly together. It is adorable, yet spooky at times.
You’re guaranteed a good time with any game in the series, but this entry shines in battle with a breathtaking finale and one of the most emotional endings.
Persona 5 Tactica felt mostly like a fun filler episode, it provided a simple gameplay that lacked depth or innovation and a story that felt too safe to make it reach the peak Persona 5 Strikers achieved as a spin-off title to Persona 5
Beyond the Dawn is a simple revisit to check on what the characters been up to after the base game, with no new locations or playable characters made the whole thing feel like a wasted opportunity
Modern Warfare 3 delivered on all fronts for Call of Duty players, providing an undeniably enjoyable experience across its various game modes. However, this installment falls short in terms of introducing new and innovative elements, a departure from the series' tradition of pushing boundaries with each release. It seems that the developers opted to prioritize satisfying players by incorporating their desires rather than venturing into uncharted territory and taking risks. Despite this lack of innovation, in my experience, the game succeeded in meeting player expectations and delivering an engaging and satisfying gaming experience.
After a rather unsuccessful change in direction Wario Ware is back to successfully milking one gimmick for 200 games straight.
A simple game that helps you relax with its soothing music and eye-pleasing graphics. Riot Games has connected the game with its vast universe, providing both veteran and new players with a unique experience alongside the champions of the Runeterra world.
Star Ocean Second Story R is riding heavily on the new visuals and audios which made the fan's favorite Star Ocean game even better, but the clunky manual dodge button they added and the major difficulty spikes are what's holding this gorgeous remake back from becoming a modern masterpiece
Nintendo turns its attention to 2D to craft one of the most joyful and inventive Mario titles and a reminder that 2D can be fresh, too.
Ghostrunner 2 is a good small game that offers a thrilling challenge that depends on your reflexes, as if you are a real cyborg ninja. But the lack of accessibility options for motion sickness, made me feel nauseous by the end of this experience.
While the Umbral Lantern was a creative and fun mechanic, it was not enough to look past the sluggish boss fights and complicated level design. Lords of the Fallen failed to bring anything different or better in the bloated Soulslike market
Quality wise this might not be that different from playing the first part and the HD Collecting on PS3, but as a rich celebration there are enough trinkets to make it a must-own for collectors.
No one expected a big jump, but what this entry provides is a richer, more refined, yet familiar, experience that is a bit better in almost every aspect.
Fate/Samurai Remnant is a fun action RPG with top notch cutscenes and voice acting that will leave fans of the Fate works all satisfied, but the padding was too much it felt like it was there to justify the game's price.
Just when I finally got burned out of the franchise after Ys IX, Ys X took all the necessary steps to elevate the franchise to higher heights and make one of the best games in the long running franchise by providing the most action packed RPG in Falcom's history despite the obvious budget choices.
Assassin’s Creed went backwards (literally) with Mirage. Even though they have managed to capture Baghdad in a perfect way, yet they failed to deliver a good game on its own.
Forza Motorsport feels like a platform that can be improved in the years to come. But on launch, it lacks a lot of content, and does have so many technical and graphical downsides with false promises that make it a disappointing game on launch, with a bright future.
Despite the emphasis on it's art and it's respect to the source material, Infinity Strash left so much to be desired as an Action RPG
This add-on provides most of the thrills of the main campaign in a condensed form, thus possibly being the preferred way to play part 4.
Many of the enhancements in this segment are geared towards delivering a more lifelike experience, bordering on simulation. The art of shooting free kicks has gained a personalized touch with the introduction of 'playing style,' advanced defensive maneuvers, and a plethora of new and highly beneficial skills. However, this approach caters primarily to the competitive crowd, leaving the experience of playing with friends without diving into every nuance somewhat incomplete. This doesn't imply a negative outcome but rather reflects a trend. I believe this installment is moving in the right direction to craft an enriching experience for Competitive gaming.
The fighting is solid and so are the graphics and story mode, but as a new start this entry is lacking in modes or ground breaking features to compete with the best.
A fitting end for a saga that is reaching 3 years. This expansion builds on the strength of the base game and provides thrilling twists and turns, accompanied by the biggest changes to the base game yet.
Eternight bosses and dating mechanics that would change the outcome of your journey are the only aspects that kept me going, but everything else was very forgettable and dull.
Super Bomberman R2 is heavy on content and everything the classic fans have ever wanted, but the lackluster story mode and doing nothing innovative made it difficult to recommend for newcomers
Lies of P has managed to provide the proper Souls-like experience, in a mysterious world full of danger, and a hard-but-fun gameplay with much variety. It might not be the perfect Souls-like game, but it is indeed a great one.
Sea of Stars is not a simple nostalgia bait game, but it is a game that learned a lot of what made both the legendary classic and modern RPG titles special and made it's own unique unforgettable experience that is worthy to stand near, but not alongside with the legendary games that inspired it.
A solid effort even if it retreads well worn ground. Space horror without the combat.
Yet, amidst this landscape, Baldur's Gate 3 emerges as a game that boldly revitalizes CRPG (Computer Role-Playing Game) principles on a AAA scale, marked by a notable emphasis on efficiency in development. The game significantly succeeds in embodying the quintessential qualities one would expect from this genre. This encompasses the player's unfettered autonomy, a rich tapestry of gameplay styles and facets, and an intricate narrative replete with profound, multifaceted choices that wield substantial influence.
